Brokkr handles everything that touches an item’s affixes.
Reforge
Section titled “Reforge”- Pick one affix and see 3 options, one of which is keeping the current affix.
- The first affix you reforge on an item becomes its anvil affix: from then on, only that affix can be reforged on that item.
- Each reforge on the same item costs 1.5 times the previous one.
- ★ affixes can’t be reforged (only polished).
Polish
Section titled “Polish”Rolls a new value within the same tier of the affix, and you choose whether to keep the new value or the old one. A ★ affix stays within the ★ range. It’s cheap, and a good way to push a low roll close to the maximum.
Masterwork (+0 to +10)
Section titled “Masterwork (+0 to +10)”- Each level grants +5% to all affixes on the item.
- At +4, +8 and +10, a random affix gets +25%.
- Each level adds 5 to Item Power.
Higher levels call for Essences and, from +8 onward, Freyja’s Tears. The cost of each level by rarity and iLvl is in the Crafting catalog.
The Master Smith achievement requires an item at +10.
Tempering
Section titled “Tempering”Adds one affix chosen from a recipe (recipes come from loot and achievements). Each item allows up to 3 tempering attempts; each new attempt replaces the affix from the previous one. Common items can’t be tempered.
Every service costs gold (which grows with the item’s level and rarity) and materials. The full table, by rarity and iLvl, is in the Crafting catalog, and the recipes are under Tempering recipes.
