Runewords
A runeword turns an ordinary item into a named item with powerful effects. It is the reward for gathering the right runes.
How to make one
Section titled “How to make one”- Get a Rare or better item, of the right slot, with exactly the number of empty sockets the word calls for. Andvari can open sockets.
- Know the recipe. Two recipes are revealed from the start; you can reveal the others by paying gold to Mímir (one random recipe, pricier each time) or discover them by forming the word. They are kept in his well.
- Bring the item and the runes to the Völva and forge the word in the right order, or socket the runes in the right order with Andvari: the word forms on the spot.
A runeword is permanent: only the Völva can erase it, and the runes are lost when she does. Salvaging an item with a runeword also destroys its runes.
