Keeper of the Hoard
A dwarven jeweler with a loupe over one eye, tucked in a corner of the hall with his workbench and the glitter of gems. He tends the hoard: sockets and gems.
What he does

| Open socket | Opens an item’s missing sockets, up to the maximum for that piece. It’s the only way to get a 2nd socket on amulets and rings. |
| Socket | Sets a gem (or rune) into an empty socket. |
| Remove gem | Free. The gem goes back to your gem pouch. |
| Combine gems | 3 identical gems → 1 of the next quality, for gold. |
| Sell Chipped gems | To clear out your gem pouch. |

In the myths
Section titled “In the myths”Andvari is the dwarf who lived beneath a waterfall in the shape of a pike, guarding a vast treasure. Loki caught him and took everything, even the ring Andvaranaut — and Andvari cursed the ring to bring ruin to whoever owned it.
