Heimdall

Portrait of Heimdall, Watcher of the Bifröst

Heimdall

Watcher of the Bifröst

Guardian of the rainbow bridge. He stands beside the Bifröst gate with the Gjallarhorn — the horn that sounds at every departure.

Heimdall's panel: the region's maps on the left; on the right, the difficulties, the ten stages of the Fjords of Hrafnvik with the stars earned and the Depart button.
  1. Choose the map and the stage. The panel shows the ten maps of Útangarðr. For now, the Fjords of Hrafnvik and the Barrows of Haugsnes are open; the other eight appear as “Coming soon”. On each map you pick one of the ten stages — or the Crossing — and see the stars you’ve already earned.
  2. Choose the difficulty. Normal, Heroic, Mythic and Ragnarök. Each one is a monster level band, unlocked by beating the one before it.
  3. Ragnarök Expeditions. Once you’ve beaten Ragnarök, Heimdall offers the Expeditions, with tiers that make monsters stronger and loot better.
  4. Depart. The Gjallarhorn sounds, the gate blazes, the game saves and your hero crosses the Bifröst.

Details on each difficulty in Difficulties and Expeditions.

Heimdall is the watchman of the gods: he can see for hundreds of leagues, hear the grass grow and barely sleeps. When Ragnarök begins, he is the one who will blow the Gjallarhorn to summon the gods to battle.
