Bestiary

These are the enemies the hero faces in the beta. Each species has its own behavior and, almost always, a weakness or resistance to some element. Mímir keeps count of how many of each you’ve slain in the Bestiary tab.

Each species’ life and damage are shown relative to a standard monster of the same level. Resistances apply from Normal through Mythic and become 50% stronger in Ragnarök and the Expeditions beta. Per-level numbers, lore and waves are in the Enemy catalog.

  • Monster level: the hero’s, locked to the difficulty’s bracket. Bosses are +2 levels higher.
  • Smooth growth: life, damage and experience grow with level, without exploding exponentially. A regular monster falls in a few seconds of basic attacks from a hero of the same level beta.
  • Elite (Champion): 3× life, 1.4× damage, a blue aura and better loot.
  • Every attack is telegraphed: an animation, a red arc on the ground and limited reach — step out of the area in time and you won’t be hit.
  • They surround, they don’t pile up: melee enemies move around their allies to surround the hero. Bodies push against each other; they don’t pass through.
  • Draugr rise from the earth, fanning out one by one. Wolves come running.
